Sin: A short piece II
This is a sequel to Sin: A short piece
I felt far from Pops and I was about to start pressing phone to look for something to distract me but somehow I willed myself to pray and while praying I said 'oh God I feel far from you, please come close to me' and while praying, Father said "I want you to imagine a house in the desert; with every house, comes a door: and what do doors symbolize? Entrances and exits."
While in the house, temptation is permitted to knock on your house doors and you're left with two choices either you open the door and follow temptation down the road which leads to sin or you stay in the house ignoring the knock.
I need you to get the picture well, I was in the house, opened the door, followed temptation and it led to sin (choosing my flesh). Resulting in me being far away from the house I was meant to be in and now in sin.
When we sin, I've come to realize that we are the ones who go away from the presence of God, not Him leaving us.
Father is still there, doesn't go anywhere; we on the other hand have wandered out of the house into the wilderness.
As you can imagine, the desert's not pretty, it's arid and devoid of life.
Now, how do you make your way back to the house?
In a funny way, we don't get to find Him, He gets to find us again we just have to want to be found; like making noise in a hide and seek game or how I went on my knees to pray and said 'God I feel far from you' and I realized I left him, but He came to find me.
You truly cannot walk back to the house, God will come find you as you are. Luke 19:10 says 'for the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost'. Jesus will always come find His lost sheep lead them back home.
While God hates sin, another reason He doesn't want it for us is because he knows how dangerous it is outside his House.Being independent of God, or refusing to reside in His private realm, is the core of sin; meaning a person in sin does not dwell in His secret place or abide under His shadow (His presence) negating Psalm 91:1 which says:
'He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.'
Note that 'dewelleth' is a continuous verb and once you stop 'dwelling' you're no longer in God's presence and there's a problem because the longer we stay away, the weaker we get and the more vulnerable we become to the attacks of the enemy.
The devil can swoop in and lie to you cause you're in his 'domain' and vulnerable to his attacks, he'll try to break you and cause your knowledge to fade away by getting you to forget your truths.
Be rest assured, I have been in this position before, I had the knowledge intact; I knew 'i could do all things through Christ who strengthens me', but being outside my Father allowed for God given truths to be blurred, it allowed for my flesh to overpower my spirit and not long after, guilt set in, weighed me down and I became like an electric fan in a place with no electricity; useful but out of my source of power. That's why It's good to have a community or anyone you can talk to: brother or sister in Christ that can help.
When I told my friend, she said 'imagine how Jesus feels' because we are in a relationship with our Lord Jesus.
It hurts, when the person you love and want to spend time with doesn’t feel the same way because of something he did. Something you already forgave'
Boy, when she sent this I did not want to read it cause of the 'i know' mentality I had, then I got convicted not to be prideful 'you can not know everything' even if you teach it: once pride sets in, you become stagnant so I was like nahhhhh not me!! Amen
So I read it again and it hit. I was smiling and texted her, 'ill keep reading this' cause I needed to be in that state of mind knowing he wanted to spend time with me and reminding myself of that fact.
If you're currently in the spot I was last week, please 'marco polo' your way back to God.
He's looking for you, do you want to be found?
I love you! God loves you more!!
On the note of my earlier depicted pride,
'anyone who claims to know all the answers doesn’t really know very much'
1 Corinthians 8:2
