Why do you care!?

The author of 'the subtle art of not giving a f...' when asked how not to give a f... said: "there is no secret, we have to care, we have to care about something because if we try not to care about anything, it's still caring about something (not caring). The issue is, we don't have anything better to care about, so we care about anything".

He gave an example: someone at work doesn't like you and says some mean things to you and let's imagine (God forbid) your mother has cancer, how important would that person's opinion be to you? Exactly their opinion would be of zero importance because there's something more important than what they're saying to you.

Now, Body of Christ, the same applies to us as children of God. What anyone says about us that does not tally with the word of God should not hold water. In fact, if what you say about yourself does not tally with the word of God, you're saying rubbish. (With the exception of an honest evaluation of yourself seeing where you need to work on yourself).

We need to know and be aware of what God says about us, so we will not hold people's opinions higher than God's. So if His word says we are fearfully and wonderfully made; (Psalm 139: 14 'i will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made) we should know that we are, and we should see ourselves through God's lens.

I need you to take what God says about you and hold it to a higher standard than what the world says about you or how the world wants you to be. We are not meant to conform to the standards of this world! Romans 12: 2 'and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...'

'They said this, they said that', 'they may say this, they may say that', blah blah blah! but this is what your heavenly Father, your creator says about you; nothing else should matter.

We need to identify with the truth of God's word and build our identity around who God says we are as His children.
I believe the only reason we as humans want to fit in, and are influenced by ideas and opinions is because we are more interested in what people have to say than what God has to say.

The person we are following; the Son of the Father did not land on earth and then subsequently lost sight of his vision due to opinions around Him. He came, He saw & He conquered because he kept his eyes fixed on the vision. DIfferent people had different opinions on who He was but He never lost sight of who the Father said He was.

Imagine how it would have been if, after Jesus asked his disciples 'whom do men say that I am?'  (Matthew 16: 13, Mark 8: 21 and Luke 9: 18) ...and they said John the Baptist, Elijah; there was a whole chapter on Jesus debating His identity like 'abi I'm John, or am I Elijah' and begins to ask God questions.
Exactly! Jesus knew who He was in the Father and He moved like that. He didn't care what others called Him or who they expected Him to be. It is not easy, it is a daily walk and it takes consistent and conscious effort but beloved, do not give up.

Pops said He has given us the spirit of power, love and sound mind; we will NOT move with fear! 2Timothy 1:7; 'For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind' . But when we get scared we should put our trust in the Lord Psalm 53:3
He says you are fearfully and wonderfully made (you are beautiful) don't look down on yourself or see yourself otherwise and if it is hard, because it will sometimes, talk to the Holy Spirit and ask Him for help. He is our comforter and will not leave not forsake you🫂

Friends, begin to build and place God's word on an unreachable pedestal and demolish other pedestals you have built upon foundations outside the word of God; opinions contrary to God's word.
Care more about what God says about you than what the world says about you because nobody knows you like He does and if He says those things, He is not wrong; or do you know more than God?

Let us begin to consciously live as who God says we are and don't try to fit in because we will get lost. You already have an identity in Christ, don't try to fit in with the world: you are built different!

Mini assessment!!!
Who's opinion do you care about that is not God's?
When do you plan to let it stop affecting you?
